  • My first smoker, better built, top quality

    Cooksoutside • 5 years ago

I've had my smoker for 2 yrs now. Its well seasoned and cooks awesome. I usually let the women cook the turkey but the past year I decided to smoke one. It turned out better than can be imagined. Tender, juicy, that great smokey flavor. This grill is very easy to cook on and clean. The fire box is a great size and easy to control. I do recommend sealing it to the main cooking drum with a fire resistant sealant. If you are considering this grill/smoker have no fear. Charcoal, google and a healthy appetite and you too can be a grillin machine!

  • Really good smoker

    Pakman • 6 years ago

I've had this smoker for a couple of years now and it was a step up from the one I replaced. I have pretty solid control over the temp, although there is quite a bit of smoke (and heat) leak from the seam between the top and bottom of the smoke box as well as the connection between the smoke box and the chamber. I've seen some relatively inexpensive ways to fix that with high temp silicone and heat tape. That being said, it's still more efficient than the one I replaced. 10 hour smoke for pork butts uses less than a single back of briquettes and half bag of apple wood chunks. I also use it as a grill almost weekly. Solid performer, especially for the price.

  • First smoker ever

    SoonerSteve • 6 years ago

This smoker was bought for me for a late birthday early Fathers Day gift in April 2016. I'd had several other grills but never a smoker. I've been hooked on my Oklahoma Joe's ever since. Anywhere from beer can stuffed burgers, to 18 pound turkey's, ribs, pork butts, steaks, whole chickens, this has been a blast to use! I've not attempted (yet) brisket but hope to soon. Regular maintenance or as I call it "love," my Joe's will outlast me. Not that that's a competition of course. I continue to learn and replicate new recipes and as I perfect them on my Joe's I add new twists. I would recommend Oklahoma Joe's to anyone wanting to invest in some great tasting shut the front door fun.

  • Best smoker grill I've ever had

    oukalarr • 6 years ago

I have had mine for three seasons now and it gets used and abused almost every day in the summertime and it stays outside during the upstate NY winters.I have had other more expensive smoker grills that have just fallen a part in a season. This grill is heavy duty and built very well, It seals up nice and tight and once you get used to it you can regulate the heat just like cooking in your oven.I absolutely love this grill. Its not too often that you see something made this well anymore. when this grill finally has enough of my abuse and is ready to be replaced I will definitely buy another one.

  • Fall to your knees before thy holy grill

    bpoag • 6 years ago

Factory-built to be completely devoid of both compassion AND empathy, the Highland Offset Smoker (MODEL #15202031-63) has no choice but to be fueled by charcoal, unrepentant hatred, and an obsessive desire to humiliate people who own gas grills. The gauge on the top tells how how much ash it kicks compared to them, and it is always pegged at the maximum.. It is, for all intents and purposes, a 178-pound food-purifying weapon, and altar to the god of fire. Let no man place another grill before you; for that grill will be unclean and unholy, and no burnt offerings placed within it shall appease you.
